Harry Day (AKA some people will do anything to get out of 22 hours on a bus...)

So the last day turned out not to be quite so final for a few of us when Harry had a little accident in the last hour of skiing-but it gave us an entertaining extra day of ambulances, planes and airport buggies...

Last night we had medals given out and a bizarre musical extravaganza from the instructors (luckily there are no photos of that though...)
Malik pulled off the spectacular feat of beating Jo for the top spot

Friday basically then entailed many of us hooking on our 'big feet' and throwing ourselves into deep snow...

Hi. Today was a beautifal day in Austria. Unfortunatley some of us were injured or just not up to the challenge today so we had to sit in the cafe like girls everyone's having a lovely day skiing. However some people didn't put enough sun cream on so they got burnt a bit by the sun sun.

Today was a beautiful day, the sun was shining the mountians were glistening and we skiied over a house.Alan atempted many jumps, and did rather well as shown in the video... oh, and we got the first day of April off to kick start by getting tricked into tryin to push start an automatic coach up a hill...

And still the fog lingers. I saw imi fall over as you will see in the vid! Quidditch was amazing today. Ravernclaw scored many goals with the quaffle. But unfortunatly malchub denied ravenclaw the win. We thought all hope was lost in terms of the weather until we broke through the seal of darstedly fog to lavish our faces in the sun sun!

After snowing all night and day we headed off to auffach in the mist. As Neiderau had finished for the season we went to Auffach which is a much bigger mountain with way more slopes, and everyone had such a good day!
The middle group had a slight scare when amy fell over in the fog, but a very nice man resembling santa clause came and helped us! We all enjoyed the freee skiii and hopefully it will brighten up for tomorrow so we can actualy take in the views as well! one too many, literally ahaha!

Monsieur J ayant fait un enorme caprice parce qu'il n'y avait pas de lui photos sur le blog, nous avons decide de realiser son reve.
Jonty was quite angry that there wasn't any picture of him on the blog so we decided to make his dream come true.

Even though it was quite hard to get up on the morning because of the long bus journey, we eventually all manage to get out of our beds, get our gear on and go skking.
Ca a pas ete tres facile de sortir du lit mais bon avec un peu de volonte on a resussit a aller s'eclater sur les pistes.

Day 1- on the bus

Well the bus trip was entertaining- at least for something 22 hours long. We shuffled continuously, we sang '80s music, we played games like i spy (i spy a bus, i spy a motorway :) and munched at every opportunity. No service station was safe anywhere between Sibford and Niederau, no food uneaten, no wrapper left unopened.

The Eurostar got mixed responses from everyone. Yells of "is that water in the tunnel" and "are we gonna hit the sides" flew around the carriage every couple of minutes. The temperature inside made us wonder if we'd packed the right kit for the trip- everything seemed so hot!

But finally on the second day of travelling, Neiderau was in sight...

So far, the food is fantastic. Certainly makes a change from kfc and chocolate.

Welcome to the very first post on the very first blog to be undertaken by the Sibford School ski trippers! This year's trip will take place between March 27 and April 3rd 2009 at the beautiful Austrian resort of Niederau, near(ish) Innsbruck.
Check in everyday we're out there, to read about (and hopefully see pictures of) the day's falls, and to find out if the teachers can avoid getting concussion this year....
